Bass Emporium offers private lessons on Electric Bass and Upright Bass. Private lessons range from beginner to advanced private classes concentrating on theory, reading and technique. The private lessons cover a wide variety of topics and the private lesson format allows our instructors to develop a course of study for each student.

Lynne Davis joins Bass Emporium teaching staff!

Bass Emporium is very pleased to announce the addition of Lynne Davis to the teaching staff!

An in-demand multi-instrumental performer and session musician, Lynne was one of the original teachers at the Los Angeles Music Academy, where she held a position in the bass department for 14 years. She is also an adjunct professor at the University of Southern California. As the former “Theory Dominatrix” columnist for Bass Guitar magazine, Lynne enjoys helping bassists develop their overall musicianship through in-depth study of music theory.

Lessons are $30 per half hour, all styles, and levels taught. Beginners Welcome!

Ed Friedland now teaching at Bass Emporium!

Bassist, author, educator Ed Friedland is offering private lessons at Bass Emporium. Ed has written for several magazines, including Bass Player, Bass Guitar, Jazz Times, Guitar World, and The Tucson Weekly. He is the author of 15 books and 3 DVDs for Hal Leonard.

Ed taught at Berklee College of Music, Boston College, Arizona State University, and has maintained a busy private studio since 1979. His performance credits include Larry Coryell, Michal Urbaniak, Robben Ford, Johnny Adams, Robert Junior Lockwood, Mighty Sam McClain, and many others.
