I love the store, and love that you guys make customers feel like they are family. Every time I walk in the store, it is a good experience, John is like the sage of bass, and if you ever lose Chuck, you really made a mistake. The staff is wonderful. I sincerely wish I could give you guys more business, but unfortunately, my wallet and my “stable” is only so large. I’m still holding out for that once in a lifetime bass.

I was in last week (rainy day, Thurs?) and killing time while my wife and children went shopping at Lakeline Mall. I searched the web and found your store (I had seen your website prior) and was very impressed. Chuck was extremely knowledgable and friendly. I was just “looking” and he was cool; let me play some fantastic basses. Currently I am not looking for a new bass, but when I am (perhaps a 6 string), I will contact you guys!

The bass that I saw on the site was the one I got and, man, is it georgeous! One of the most versitile basses that I’ve ever played!

To put it simply, you guys are awesome.

I really have to give special recognition to Chuck. I remember the first time I walked into the store. I had heard a lot of great things about Ashdown amps and wanted to see what all the hype was about.

As soon as I walked through the door, I receieved a genuinely friendly greeting, followed by “If you see anything you’d like to try out, just grab it and plug it in!” I basically just stood there in shock for a few seconds. I remember thinking to myself, “There are $4000 hand-made instruments all over the place in here, are you serious?”

Even though I wasn’t ready to purchase anything, Chuck made me feel like the most important person in the store. He went MILES out of his way to help me out! He was literally moving amps and cabinets all over the store (happily) so I could play them side by side and find out what sounded best to my ears. But it didn’t end there! He actually sat there with me, dialed everything in as I was playing, offered his own opinion/advice (which is more valuable than I think he realizes), and answered absolutely every stupid little question I asked. And throughout all this, I never heard a sales pitch, never felt pressured to buy anything, and he never talked down to me or “dummed down” the conversation. Really, I felt like I had my very own personal assistant that whole time. You just never see that level of service anymore. I was so amazed with my experience at Bass Emporium, that I ended up coming back again, and again, and again. Each time, leaving with that same great feeling.

To be honest, I’m not used to this kind of treatment. I’m 24 years old (but apparently look much younger than that). Whenever I walk into other independent music stores I either get the “don’t touch anything” attitude, or I have to seek out some ignorant salesman who didn’t want to give me the time of day in the first place.

So I guess it’s no surprise that I’ve purchased my cabinet and my brand new Ashdown ABM-500 EVO II from Bass Emporium. I think the biggest surprise is how competitively you price everything. Your numbers are right there with the gigantic mega-retailers (often less expensive), and I know I won’t be screwed if I ever need anything after the sale.

Basically, I want to thank you guys from the bottom of my heart, just for doing what you do every day. It might not seem like anything out of the ordinary to you, but it makes all the difference in the world to me. You’ve gained a lifelong customer and friend.

I love visiting your store every time I come into Austin. What makes your store so cool to me is that there is such a wide array of basses to play. I always feel as I have to try every bass out before I leave but I always get hooked on a few and neglect the others.

I just wanted to send you a little note of encouragement. I am so incredibly thankful that this guy at guitar center recommended your store to me. I recently moved here from Detroit, and there is nothing like what you have to offer anywhere in Detroit. It is so great to see a store that actually sells quality gear, not just the cheap mass-produced stuff. I am very thankful for your store. I also wanted to thank you because the service I have received has been top-notch. I am a semi-pro player, and still have a lot to learn, and you and your staff (I don’t remember the gentleman’s name that was there on Saturday, 6/10, but he was great too) have always been very patient and kind, and willing to answer all of my questions. I love being able to ask questions of people that actually know what they’re talking about. Every time I come to your store, I walk away having learned something new. I truly value your experience and wisdom, and am grateful that you are so willing to share it. It means a lot to me, too, that I don’t have a lot of money to spend on gear right now, so I mostly just come in for strings and little stuff, yet I am not treated as insignificant. That is the kind of customer service that builds life-long customers, and I guarantee you that when I finally do have the funds, I will be buying my dream rig (Ashdown/Sadowsky) from you guys. Thanks for everything, and I look forward to years of shopping at what I like to call the Ferrari dealership of bass guitars.

I am doing all of my bass shopping @ Bass Emporium from now on! Everything that was on my shopping list (tuner, cable & strings) was available and the price was great! I broke 2 of my brand new strings, embarrased, I brought them back & I was given a new set. That wouldn’t happen at Guitar Center. John, you took the time to answer my questions & you even remembered the last time I was in your store. You even remembered what bass I played!! That is great service & that is something I never got @ a chain music store. From now on, I’m spending all of my grocery money @ Bass Emporium!!!!
